Looking To Adopt Twins

Hi, we are looking to adopt twins after having fostered twins for 2 years. We realize the chances of adopting twins is already slimmer than single adoption, but has anyone done this?  And if so, was it independently?

Of course people have done this if the birth mother gives birth to twins but specifically asking for twins? You would have to be chosen by birth mom, twins would have to be born etc.

In the In the 20 some years I was involved in placements (from foster care and adoption agencies) I think I placed one set, one set came internationally and one was a twin but didn’t live with the twin due to some emotional issues. Rare

Its possible bur rare, i would expect the wait to be matched to be much longer, and possibly never happen. Twins are the holy grail in the adoption world, everyone wants twins.  It’s an easier way to build a family, two children but you only have to go through the legal process once and pay one set of fees. So twins are highly sought after, and you would face a lot of competition if you were able to find a set. Also, scammers know this, and very, very frequently will say they have twins available for adoption. Ithere are a ton of scammers on this and othet sites, and they almost always say they have twins. I would be extremely suspicious of any independent matching when they say there would be twins. It’s possible to adopt twins, but I wouldn’t recommend passing over a single baby/child holding out for twins, because there is a good chance it will never happen.

As a FFY, I really have to ask what is is about adopters that they are looking to get the things—and I do mean “things” as it seems like it’s not about actual people—that they want.
How can adopters say on the one hand that they are taking children who need a family and on the other hand say that —well, what we want for ourselves is twins. Or whatever. Like the “twins” don’t have natural parents or anything except existing to be adopted.
It’s very triggering to read that potential adopters are shopping for twins.
