Adoption Photo: From one mother to another

I could of chosen between a hundred pictures of all the special moments between my son and I, but when my heart speaks and makes the final decision for THE picture most treasured…this is it. Three days after our son was born we had our first hearing in which we were granted custody. Instead of just going home, we gathered with our families, our son’s birth family included and a ” Placement Ceremony” was held. It took place in the way you might see a wedding happen. The birth parents stated that it was there intention to place her son with my husband and I, and had many heartfelt and wonderful things to say to and about us. My husband and I in turn stated our intention to accept, love and raise this sweet boy as our own. In the end Birth Mom placed him in my arms. This picture was THE moment she let go and gifted us with a life and love that we had only dreamed about. My most treasured moment.
