We are a family of 8…mom, dad, Chris, 18, Adrianna, 16, Jaden 3 1/2, Livvie (Yorkie) Laci Marie (Shih Tzu) and Lucy Lu (kittie).
Jaden came into our lives when he was nine days old as our foster son. We fell in love with him of course and were lucky enough that he eventually fell in love with us as well!
I guess the most unique aspect of our story is that we had not intended to adopt! We had become foster parents to help out and do our part…we did have several placements and then we were asked to take a newborn…I was between jobs at the time so it seemed like it was meant to be…I met Jay when he was about 4 days old…I was so scared to take him home! The social worker couldn’t understand my hesitancy…but I was just afraid because he was so small! I remember driving home with Jay in the carseat behind me…it was the most surreal feeling in the world…far far different than when we took home our other children…My heart was so filled for this little baby boy that wasn’t going home with his mom and dad to a great celebration…but rather with some woman that he had just met…he didn’t know my voice, my smell…nuthin…
We are a camping family…we used to camp all over Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut, but now we have a seasonal site in Western Mass so it’s easier for us to hop in the truck and head out there! We like to kayak, bike ride, “scoot” swim and make huge campfires! We love our nature walks! The beach in Maine is also a favorite place of ours where the water is so cold, your ankles freeze immediately but ya get used to it!!!
We have a recent Eagle Scout and we hope in another 14 1/2 years, we’ll have another!
