I’m looking to connect with adoptive families in the harrisburg area. Any one here in that area?

I am in Harrisburg. I have a 9-year-old daughter who was adopted from China in 2004. To connect with other adoptive parents in this area, you might want to join Families Through Adoption - Central PA. They have a Facebook Group that you can join to receive notices about their upcoming events. Here is a description of their group:

“Families Through Adoption or FTA is an adoption support group based in Central Pennsylvania. Our objective is to assist families in waiting along with families that already have adopted children. We provide events such as our annual Festival of Many Lands, Chon Korean Dinner and Holiday Party where adoptive families can network, see multi-cultural entertainment and find support for all phases of the adoption process.”

The cost to be a member I think is $10 or $15 per year, and they maintain a membership list with names, mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, and adoption country of origin.

Are you new to adoption (waiting or have recently adopted), or just new to the Harrisburg area? I think FTA of Central PA is a good place to start to make contacts. Hope this helps.

thanks beth!, i’ll definitely check it out. I’m new to adoption. I’m trying to adopt a legally free toddler girl from foster care, so it’s taking a while. I’ve been waiting for 11 months. i recently received my first referral; let’s hope they pick me! thanks again, Jenn
