I would imagine rules differ state to state agency to agency. How long has the foster child been with you?

Go to the agency with a book and your lunchand tell them you need to
talk to someone and will wait

Remember the private adoption is not a for sure. The expectant mom and or dad could change their minds.

Do you have an adoption attorney? Maybe they can help.

The state or an agency may have rules about them placing another child while an adoption is PENDING. Your children are already in your home.  You will jave to find out what your state policies are. The bigger question is whether it is fair to your foster children for all your attention to shift away from them to a newborn,  undermining tour bind with tjem at the moment of adoption. Have you mentioned the baby to your foster Children? How long have they been in your home?  How old are They? How secure are they?

in my state it varies hugely from agency to agency. my old agency made me wait a full year from the time my daughter’s adoption was finalized (and she was with me for a full year before finalization) before I was allowed to even start the process of bringing another child home, while my new agency only requires me to wait 6 months, and they go from the date of placement,, not finalization. unfortunately you will have to wait to hear from your agency. if your worker isn’t responding, call and ask to speak with a supervisor
