Online Profile Listings
We are currently working with an adoption attorney and using online resources for listing our profile and website while searching for birth mother. Does anyone have recommendations of one over another of the online listing services? They all seem so similar that I don’t know if one is better than another.

Scott,
There are a dozen or so. I’ve researched them a lot and actually sell a product that include this research, but let me share what I tell folks who prefer to figure this out on their own.
First, take advantage of the free ones. That’s easy.
Then figure out how much you are willing to spend in this area. For the ones that are not free find out their annual fee and cut the ones that fall above your budget.
Finally, research how much traffic the remaining sites get and maximize the total traffic by signing up for as many as you can given your budget.
I have found most of these sites to have pretty low traffic and not worth the investment, but there are a few decent ones out there.
You can contact the companies to get their traffic or better yet get the data from an unbiased source (there are companies that provide estimates of this).
Oh - Make sure doing this type of advertising is legal for you (based on state law).
You may also want to consider investing in online advertising to directly drive traffic to just your own website and profile? That may be a better option for you. If you want help there check out http://www.myadoptionadvisor.com/online-ads/.
Good luck Scott!
We had success in a short time span by speaking from our hearts and posting on parent profiles website which is a sister company of adoption.com who gets nearly 1 million hits a day. There are usually 235 or so home study ready parents seeking to adopt on the site, the chances to be seen by potential prospective parents looking for families for their baby seems relatively good.
We were told to tame our faith but I’m glad we didn’t. We had several calls and made two strong connections which resulted in our successful adoption.
