My Mother's Day Gift

My social worker woke me up last Tuesday morning to tell me that a birthmom had chosen me.  She said you sound so calm - I said I’m in shock.  Twenty-four hours later I was meeting the birthmom.

I had been beginning to think that I was getting too old because I am over 50, but that did not seem to matter to the birthmom.  I have a adorable 3 month old daughter sleeping in the crib I bought SO long ago that was just catching dust.

For those of you that are waiting, I know you have doubts and the wait can seem like an eternity, but when it’s what is mean to be it just all works old.  It’s always when we least expect it and I did not expect this.  Sleep while you can, you’ll need your rest.

Congratulations and Thank you Jean Marie, i really needed to hear that especially right now… it seems that everyone around me is getting their baby…Don’t get me wrong… I’m always happy to hear that a waiting parent is no longer waiting it gives me hope, but i so very much wish it was my turn.

What a wonderful gift for spring!  Matching is like magic, no explanation it just happens.  A pretty amazing thing.  Happy Mother’s Day!
