Meeting Tomorrow

We are meeting up with the expectant mother we have been matched with.  Her due date is June 1st!  I would like to bring something nice when we meet up tomorrow…any suggestions?  She is a reader but it is so difficult to buy a book for someone.  Last time we met (which is the one and only time we’ve met) I brought cookies.  Any thoughts?  I would love to hear some ideas.

(we are meeting at a park, so she can meet our daughter.)

Thanks in advance!!

How abour a gift certificate for a book store and a flower bouquet???  Be sure to check with your attorney first, though!

The first time we met our bmom we gave her a photo album to keep. It had pictures of our home, our family and close friends. Each picture was labeled.  That way whenever I referred to someone, she’d have an idea of who they were.  It was helpful when she visited the first time, she knew everyone.

Our bmom likes tattoos. As an entrustment gift we gave her a g/c for a tattoo.  Unorthodox, but it was something she liked.  When we gave it to her we said “Whatever you get, it’ll remind you of our son”.  She got his name (she has her daughters names, but I wasn’t sure if she’d want to do that).  But she’s very proud of it!

My point was whatever you get, it doesn’t matter, just make it personal.  Maybe a favorite book of yours with an inscription?  Even if it’s not something she’d typically read, it would be something she’d know was special.

When we met our Bm we gave her a photo album, I found a nice necklace at target that had a nice saying on it, and we gave her some body cream. I had flowers sent to the hospital after our son was born

Felicidades! Congratulations on your match! A journal where she could record her feelings might be nice - if she is the writing type.

Suerte! (Good luck!)

Congrats!  The day is quickly approaching!

We got our birthmom a locket so she could put a picture in it and wear it whenever she wanted too.

Take care!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

Our meeting was fun and went smoothly.

We are all anxious for the baby to meet the world!

Our birthparents had two kids and not a lot of money so we got them a gift certificate for the movie theater by their house.

Our sons great grandma is the one who placed him with us, so this may be a little different, but the day he came to live with us we gave her a photo album partially filled with pics of the first time we met them.  Then we put a sticky note that said “to be continued” and now we send her pictures every so often to put in the album.  She loves it.
