Massachusetts Adoption Agencies

Hi Everyone,

We are just starting the process and feel completely loss.  Despite the “research” we are not interested in an open or semi-open adoption so we are finding it very difficult to find an agency that will allow us to proceed with a closed adoption. We have turned out attention to international adoptions but I keep reading so many horror stories of people who paid so much money up front only to be on a wait list for YEARS or have the program closed (Russia) and no money returned.  Any guidance you can provide would be extremely helpful.

Adoption agencies are in the business of providing families for children, not children for families. Why would an agency want to use a family who is stating they refuse to do what has been shown to be best for a child? Why do you want to adopt a child, claim to care about them, and then do something that is known to be a poor practice?
