Kinship adoption through foster care

I just found out my daughter has a bio sibling in foster care in another state. I was asked if I wanted to adopt her and have started the process. Has anyone done this? Wondering her long ICPC took in your case. Hoping MA is faster than I’ve heard other state can be.

it was not kinship and I live in pennsylvania, but the icpc process for me from Oregon took 3 months; it would have been faster but it was delayed by several things (first Christmas, then negotiating the adoption subsidy took quite a while, then because of her health issues we had to wait until her new medical card was active in my state, before she came home, and that took a while). probably without all the extra delays it would have taken 2 months. then my second adoption was from florida; the social workers would not start the icpc process until I made the first visit, so that delayed things by several weeks. once they started the icpc process it took 4 months. hope that helps give you an idea of how long it might take.  good luck!

Rn4kidz - thank you! I’m in another group and people were saying it could take 6 months. I’m hoping and praying it won’t. Contemplating a visit in April if things look like they’re moving slowly.
