In florida. adopting from texas!

Hi
I was matched with birthmom from Florida. She moved to Texas in the middle of the process. Anyone have experience in this type of situation? She is due anyday. Thanks!

Just as an aside, you were not matched with a “birth mom,” you were matched with a pregnant woman who is carrying her child, not yours. She is an expectant mother.
As I tried to show in the above link, and there are many others, this adoption would be an interstate adoption and you would have to meet the requirements of both states, plus be in Texas while the process takes place before you could take the child out of state. You will need to be in Texas for some time before you can take the child to Florida.
ICPC rules must be met, and the rules of both the “sending. In Texas, although it has a “putative father registry,” in reality the biological father has rights:

To put it simply, if the woman who is considering surrending her child to you now lives in Texas, and you still live in Florida, there are legal hurdles that you might not have considered before.
