Homestudy not approved
Our home study was submitted to the federal government at the beginning of the month. The social worker who did the home study said that we would be good guardians and she recommended that the government place the kid with us. We bought his school supplies, we found a counselor who can work with teenagers with sexual behavior problems, we arranged tutoring… I mean, we were ready to have him home in the next two weeks.
Today I talked to the kid’s case worker and he told me that the federal government doesn’t think we are a good placement because we live in the same town as the victim (the kid’s little sister). During the home study we talked about how we would keep our kid away from his younger siblings, how we would supervise him.
So that’s it. He stays in the treatment center for now and then either deportation or federal foster care.
