Hair Salon Suggestions - Boston Area?
HI - wondering if anyone in the Boston area has a suggestion for a hair salon that works with a natural style of Biracial/African American hair?
My daughter (12) is biracial - and has VERY thick curly hair. We did go to a local Cambridge salon once and they insisted the best way to go was the chemical straightening etc. She looked great for a day - but didn’t want anything to do with the upkeep- and I have concerns about putting so many chemcials on the head of such a young girl. However, now she just wears her hair up in a bun and we haven’t ventured out for any real care or styling. I’d like to get her working with a salon that can style her hair naturally and give her(me) advice on care. We are in Cambridge but could venture out of the city if needed.
Any ideas/suggestions appreciated
Catherine

Hi Catherine,
Hope all is well, I think you made a great choice not to put chemicals in her hair, being she so young. There are tons of african hair braiding salons in Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan.

Alima’s AHB in Dorchester 617 4271464
