U.S. Foster Adoptive Families
After nearly 5 years, we've been ¡Ématched¡É
Today we were finally matched to be the adoptive parents of or foster daughter. She is one part of a large sibling group. I have fostered all & parts of the group off & on for the better part of the last 5 years. I nearly laughed today when I got a call after the matching meeting saying it was decided we were an appropriate match, i thought after 5 years I’d hope so or else she’s already way messed up
Funny, because on one hand, there is no physical change to the structure of our family. And yet my heart is happy & we will officially have our 1st forever daughter very soon.

Congratulations! Do you have an adoption date yet? Are any of her siblings eventually going to be able to join your family?
Congrats!!! Great news for you and her! My heart felt so happy when our daughter was offical too! She is only 4,but after going through the adoption day, a strong calm came over her.
Congratulations! We just adopted our son last month who had been with us 3 years. I totally understand the feeling of the match meeting…LOL! You are correct the structure won’t change, but the weight off your shoulders will feel much better. It’s am amazing process and worth every bump in the road!
Congratulations! We are in the same situation. We’ve had our 3 for almost 2 years but were officially matched about a month ago. We still don’t have an adoption date set, but our attorney thinks it will be in the next month. I don’t know what to expect when it’s final. I think I’ll just break down and cry the rest of the day.
I’m so happy for you! What wonderful news!
Congratulations..5 years is a LONG time for child to even be in Foster care…

Congrats! I guess it was worth the wait and all the love and time you have invested in your “new” daughter. I wish you the best!
