When to tell adoption stories

In my blog, http://www.adoptivefamiliescircle.com/blogs/post/when_i_told/, I write how I approached telling my children their adoption story.  Essentially, I practiced on them before they knew what I was saying and over time I perfected their story.
Were you given similar advice?  How about if you adopted an older child who already had language?  If any of you have children who look similar to you, have you considered not telling them until they are older?

Sometime adoptive parents are afraid of the questions their child may ask to them in return if they tell them about heir adoption. Here are the questions adopted children might ask:  http://goo.gl/cZz3cc
