Hi Jeff,

My wife Heather and I brought our 3-year-old son Derin home from Kerala, India in October 2009.  We’re looking forward to celebrating his birthday this spring and the 1st anniversary of his adoption in December.

You may want to join the India Adoption group ( http://www.adoptivefamiliescircle.com/groups/group/India_Adoption ) that was recently created here on AF Circle.

Welcome Jeff. Enjoyed your introductory blog. Clueless is a great place to begin parenting. The only really smart parents are the ones who don’t have kids yet. Look forward to reading more.

Welcome Jeff.  I’m so happy to have you join AFC and add your unique paternal perspective to the blogs here.  Your son is absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I’m happy to be here and happy to have been given the opportunity to blog on this great site.

@Sharon, yes you have probably seen me on ichild. What a great collection of information on Indian adoptions, even if it does get a little dramatic every now and then, lol.

@Stacy, I was a genius when I was 20, unmarried and childless! I’m not sure what happened…

@Jenna, Thanks! I tell everyone that he gets that from me, but I don’t think anyone’s buying it wink

@3genadopt, Thanks. One thing I noticed early on was a lack of dads in the blogosphere. I find blogging to be a great release for me, and I hope I can make some other adoptive dads-to-be a little more at ease. “If this guy can do it…”

Jeff
