Best Adoption book? That is easy - *Parenting your Internationally Adopted Child (from the first hours until the teen years)* Patty Coogen, Harvard Common Press. Although it is aimed at IA, I think it applies across the spectrum, especially to TRA.

Brown Babies, Pink Parents by Amy Ford. It’s a guide to transracial parenting. It has everything-hair care, embracing the similarities, celebrating the differences, etc. The author also has a blog on facebook.

I agree whole-heartedly with Madison Mama.  It’s not one you hear recommended or even referenced very much, but I think it’s easily the book that has helped guide me through this process the most.

30 Adoption Portraits in 30 Days featured in the Huffington Post is worth reading, even though its not a book.  All of the stories are brief and most of them are wonderful!

Ok I am blowing my own horn but my brother and I wrote a cozy mystery (no sex gore stalking and the characters are the most important)

called The Mystery of The Multiple Mothers. Heroine is a social worker and adoption is the theme (and no I won’t say who did it)

It’s on amazon

Wherever You Are: My Love Will Find You: Nancy Tillman, is a book that we have really enjoyed reading to our son.  This book seems like it could be from both the birth parents, and adoptive parents feelings.

Glad you liked it Madison Mama. Feel free to read my blogs on my childdrenched website and my upcoming adoption memoir called March into My Heart.  Will be published late March!
