Since my son has struggled with attachment since we brought him home from Korea, traditional discipline methods like a "time-out" won't work to curb his hitting behavior.
The honeymoon is over. While my husband, Jeremiah, our two daughters, and I have settled in to being a blended family of five, Dylan, now home from Korea for three months, has begun the hard, hard work of adjustment.
We're no longer waiting. Now, we're our very own perfectly blended family.
As a transracial family, I knew we'd be visible, but I had no idea how great visibility could be.
Two days after we met our son, Dylan, in his Korean foster home, we took custody of our son as he mourned the loss of his foster mother and caretakers.
Our first meeting with our adoptive son in Korea showed us what, and who, we could be together as a family.
